Civil resilience for Hampshire, East and West Sussex and the Isle of Wight
South Coast Civil Resilience is an independent, civilian network for residents and organisations. It sits alongside the emergency services and the local resilience forums.
On 22 October 2026 the government asked every household in the country to be ready for three days without power, water or communications. Most households are not, and most do not know their neighbours well enough to ask for help.
South Coast Civil Resilience is a network for people in Hampshire, East and West Sussex and the Isle of Wight who would rather get ready now, and for the care homes, schools, surgeries and businesses that cannot shut when the power goes.
Residents join free. Organisations that are expected to hold a tested continuity plan can have one written for the building they actually have, then run with their staff as an exercise.

Residents and neighbours
A local network of people who have done the basics at home and know their neighbours. Membership is free.

Businesses and organisations
A continuity plan written for your building, tested with you and written up for the file. For care homes, schools, surgeries and firms that have to stay open.
